Rey Feo Party

28 Apr 2010 178
Rey Feo (the Ugly King) was crowned Friday evening at the Cathedral. He and his court then traveled by riverboat up to SAMA for a party. Rey Feo himself was in the first boat; we missed getting any photos of him. See where this picture was taken. [?]

El Rey Feo Rides In!

06 May 2010 177
El Rey Feo is the Ugly King of Fiesta. He did not look comfortable on that horse, and had to be helped a couple times when he almost fell off. See where this picture was taken. [?]

Little Cowboy

07 May 2010 183
The focus isn't great, but I love this kid's face. He stood by the railing, all by himself, watching the charreada. I think maybe his mom and/or dad were riders. See where this picture was taken. [?]

Saddles

Miss Margaret's House

09 May 2010 165
This house, full of Victorian furnishings, is only open for tours during the two weeks of Fiesta. It's all the collection of Miss Margaret, who lived here for about 40 years, and the house is still pretty much the way she had it when she was alive. This isn't tatty Victorian, like valentines and dried flowers, but high-end Victorian furniture, glass, textiles, etc., which are not really my cup of tea, but it was interesting and the guides told us stories about Miss Margaret's time here. I liked the kitchen (remodeled in the 30s or 40s) the best, but sadly don't have any photos of it. See where this picture was taken. [?]

Texas Cavaliers

10 May 2010 165
The River Parade is sponsored by the Texas Cavaliers. All I know about them is that they wear light blue & red uniforms and that one of them saw no problem at all with renting a dinner boat for his posh friends and parking it right in front of the seats that people, including us, paid for. The nerve! See where this picture was taken. [?]

River Parade Float

10 May 2010 200
During the parade, I played around with Rosenbeans' camera (this is the only cool shot I got). This brings us to the end of my San Antonio pix. It was a fun trip, even if my camera did break while I was there. I saw some neat stuff, hung out with nice people, ate good food, and even did a little hooping. Thanks, everyone in SATX!
