This is the last remaining White Star Line ship in the world. It was built to the same plans as the Titanic, but at 1/4 scale, and fitted with many of the same luxury finishes. The Nomadic was based in the shallow port of Cherbourg and used as a tender, taking passengers from the dock to the Titanic, which was anchored in deeper waters, for her ill-fated maiden voyage. You can go on board the Nomadic for a fee, but we didn't.

Erected to the imperishable memory of those gallant Belfast men whose names are here inscribed and who lost their lives on the 15 April, 1912, by the foundering of the Belfast built HMS Titanic, through collision with an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York. The memorial is on the grounds of Belfast City Hall, Donegall Square East.
