Presented to the City of Liverpool by Captain Walker's Old Boys Association. Captain Johnnie Walker commanded the 36th Escort/2nd Support Group naval unit from Bootle's Gladstone docks, protecting convoys from the German U-boats which menaced vital merchant shipping in the Atlantic.
