This AWG-30 wire is really nice. The insulation is pretty heat resistant and most importantly it doesn't shrink! Works perfectly with my new ST-500 stripper.

Seems it was a wise decision to use a socket for this one. Side note: now I know what I forgot. A voltage regulator. And connecting a 5V board to a 12V board will only create one thing: acrid smoke.

The one with the blue LED is the I²C master and transmits a button status, the one with the RGB matrix receives and reacts. The next step would be to synchronize the two boards. This could be used for an even bigger matrix with scrolling text.
