I had to shift the magnet, as the new position of the motor (bad mounting thread...) had shifted the lead screw horizontally. Homing didn't work anymore, as the hall sensor was 'blind'.

Problem 1: The power jack was broken
Problem 2: The magnet had fallen off and homing didn't work anymore.
Problem 3: The thread on the stepper motor (plastic) is pretty worn out, so I ha had to shift the motor.

Potentiometer, PIC 16F..., LD293 H-bridge, RS232 level shifter and some other minor stuff. The main intellectual property lies in the firmware.
