MSOP10/TSSOP8 - DIP adapters

The boards are scored. I didn't explicitly order it that way, but they snap off very easily. At first glance I didn't see the grooves, so that was a positive surprise! I had already thought about using the mini mill to cut these out. Pure horror. I probably would have had to use a 0.5 or even 0.3mm tungsten carbide mill, and these break very easily.

MakePCB have taken their time - as usual. Excellent quality though and affordable.
Luckily the panels are scored. Otherwise I'd have payed for quite expensive coasters.
MCP1804 DIP friendly(er)

I had to file down the friggin' headers again... You have to love those 29.5mil holes. I'll have to get machined headers with round pins. And if these don't fit... I'll turn into a gamma flash.
Unexpected moment of luck

Initially I had put these bridge-pads on there to select which pins are + and - and connect capacitors to them. Today I used this board with an MCP1804-SOP23-5 voltage regulator. I had everything plugged in and was in need of another GND pin. Not just the one going to the chip, bot one going to the load. Thanks to these jumpers I could use the unused pin #5 (top row in the middle) and just bridge it to GND. I need more of these little moments!

Too tiny?

I shouldn't be able to say this, but I AM surprised how small these traces actually are. I will need to use a magnifier to be able to cut them - if the blade is narrow enough...
Works as guesstimated

LT1618 boost converter finally mounted on a DIP adapter. Prototyping can begin.
Who needs cheap MSOP10/TSSOP8 to DIP adapters ?

I think I need some, but can't find affordable ones. So I'm inclined to have some made, so the price per board gets really cheap (less than 50¢). First side: MSOP10, second side: TSSOP8
This is just in the planning phase and production may take a few weeks. You've been warned.
Interested ? Drop me a message !

Now I can play with some of the INA high side current sensors. The solder pads on the bottom allow to jumper each pin to Vcc, GND or leave it floating - as needed. There's also room for two capacitors.
It is really a shame that it takes 3 weeks for airmail to get to me from the US of A. I blame customs for that. I wonder why they don't employ more staff and speed things up. There must be a system behind that.
