Apparently I goofed up again. The footprint was a 0603 one, but even for that size it was rather small. The next revision comes with 0805 with wide pads for hand-soldering.
So what do you do if the footprint is too small for 0805? You go looking for 0603 LEDs! And if you can't find any of those, you just use 0402 ones ;-)
I had to use heavy magnification for this one. The LEDs are so light they easily stick to the tweezers if only the slightest amount of "finger-grease" is on them. It's a good thing I refrained from buying 0201s. They would've pushed me over the edge.

Wrong choice of footprint

Well, it wouldn't be a problem for reflow soldering, but just to make sure I switched the footprint for one with longer pads.

The MCP1804 is quite a good regulator, very low standby consumption, smaller footprint too. So I switched to that and shrunk the board by 2mm. Can't make it much smaller without moving to insanely small parts.

Let's see how long I have to wait this time. On the positive side, OSHPARK shouldn't be affected by this year's Chinese New Year (10. and 11. Febr. 2013) and the accompanying celebrations.
QUARTERS! I NEED QUARTERS!

Never go to the US of A without a stash of quarters! The most important thing to know is that coin-laundries take quarters - lots of them. Even community washing machines / dryers at apartment complexes require them. A must have.
