New York City, 53rd Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues After the fall of the Berlin Wall many sections of the Wall were sold or given away. 360 segments of the Berlin Wall were offered for sale by a state-owned foreign trade enterprise of the German Democratic Republic, AHB Limex- Bau Export-Import in 1990. On June 23, 1990 several segments and fragments were sold on a public auction in the Hotel Metropole Palace, Monaco. The City of Berlin, the German government and German companies also gave segments of the Wall away.
