Medium or Technique: Oil on canvas Classification: Paintings Type: Genre - Interior; Figure - Male Accession Number: 35.67 Manet was a great admirer of seventeenth-century Spanish painting. This work may have been inspired by Zurbarán's "Kneeling Monk," which Manet could have seen at the Louvre.
