flowers on black are always so dramatic.

After early summer torrential rains which did their best to drown them, followed by a hellish heat wave which sought to bake them to a crisp, these lovelies finally enjoyed a revival in the cooler days of September and some very summer-like daytime temps in October. these colours are SOOC, they really looked like they were shining out of the relative darkness of the coleus.

perhaps I should be a little ashamed to say that i stole a snippet of this delicate beauty out of a flower pot in front of a grocery store... it was sweet enough to bloom for me on my birthday even though it doesn't have roots yet.
