The animal grotto in the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens isn't the cruel, small-cage zoo one at first might think; it's actually been created to look after animals discovered by customs whilst being illegally trafficked through the port. The facilities have been put in place almost entirely by volunteers, who continue to develop the place and clearly look after the animals lovingly.
