Whilst in Brussels, I took a little pilgrimage to the Grand Place, and the site of the Café Candide — from the utterly brilliant 1970s BBC TV drama "Secret Army", which tells of the bravery and agony of the Belgian "escape lines" who helped Allied fliers return to the UK to fight the Nazis. In reality the café is Maxim's, or rather was, since it had closed down. I was able to enjoy a small beer outside the one next door, however, as the jazz festival warmed up in the middle of the square. Secret Army on Wikipedia
