Yes, Al & Eric do both have problems with their eyes, (and Eric only has one) but they're not unhappy — the boys have been rescued from a bad life. But they still cling to each other and go everywhere together, and often look a lot like one cat with two heads and four very demanding front paws. In this snap, I love the compatibility of their profiles in the middle.
