Gnarly trunk

Sefton Park, Liverpool. The park is currently in the midst of a major renovation project, and the main lake is being de-silted. The most obvious result so far is a large number of very bewildered-looking ducks wandering around the neighbourhood!

Tranquility amidst the refurbishment

14 May 2008 62
The whole of Sefton Park is being ripped to pieces, with the ultimate aim of putting it all back together again. Various people are deeply unhappy at the collateral damage: a number of trees and, with an official Environment Agency license, birds' nests, even with eggs or chicks in, at the height of waterfowl nesting season. This little spot seems untouched, for now, apart from the low water level revealing a lot of silt. And the lost-looking birds wandering about.

Bluebell season

More of an ethereal glow than a sea of blue. I'm not blaming the camera: it was something about the light of this place, and also, I fear, I've missed the bluebells' peak by a day or so.

Penny & Jim survey the village pond

Uploading some oldies as I do some archiving. We were on an outing to Scotney Castle, near where Penny & Jim used to live (by Goudhurst, Kent). I thiiiink it was partly to celebrate (and "test drive") Aid Convoy 's new Land Rover Discovery. :)

Cathedral cloister residents

From Barcelona's "other" cathedral (not the Gaudi one). Taken with a disposable film camera.

Lots of reflective opportunities

But they're better handled by 1950s surrealists than me and my camera, perhaps. I dunno. There seemed to be a LOT of potential for clichés so I didn't take too much here.
