This is a typical view from my window of an evening. The vapour trail included — we can see the flight paths for at least two major airports from here, so there are constant reminders that (a) it's easy to get to amazing places in a hurry and (b) the planet is in big trouble.

During our drive up to Latakia, Syria from Jordan, on the 31st of December. So this western sky was the last sunset of the year. Kim and Dashcam both have some of this journey, along with the rest of the convoy, on video, and that may make it up onto here eventually, although more will probably be on Vimeo or YouTube because I've still not really made friends with the idea of video on flickr.
