Penny & Jim survey the village pond

Uploading some oldies as I do some archiving.
We were on an outing to Scotney Castle, near where Penny & Jim used to live (by Goudhurst, Kent). I thiiiink it was partly to celebrate (and "test drive") Aid Convoy 's new Land Rover Discovery. :)
Village on a common
Telscombe vicarage

No particular connection to me. But I love Telscombe because there's a kinda secret way there. Travelling east along the coast after Brighton, there's not another tarred road north until Newhaven. But there IS a legal road, running across Telscombe Tye. In the other direction (from the village) it's marked as a dead end. But it also has 60mph signs! Exploring it, and finding a gorgeous little village at the end, complete with red telephone box, was like discovering a lost world.
Novel bookshop

Once a petrol station, but for over twenty years a bookshop instead.
The lovely proprietor made me a cup of coffee as soon as I went in for a look around. I felt terrible that I didn't buy the £40 book I really wanted, but I've bought enough toys recently... so I bought a £5 book instead, just so I had contributed.
If you want to browse for yourself, it's in Blair Atholl (near the fabulous water mill where they still make their own bread!) The bookshop is next to the hotel, actually on what used to be the A9, hence the petrol station story. Follow signs for Blair Castle to get here.
Oh, and this is also the first shot to be uploaded of something I suppose I'd better get used to over the winter: my car with its roof up!
Road into the mist
Whoops...

I'm slightly terrified of the work and the bills that are quite possibly heading my way, but oh dear me, I've always liked these...
For the geeks: Jaguar XJ-S 6-cylinder manual. A 1972 design, launched in 1975, with this one coming along in 1985. Born sage green, but repainted with its LPG conversion in 2000.
