Expired Ferrania 200 film, shot with a cheap plastic camera from the charity shop.

My first attempt at home-development of film, jumping in at the deep end with a C41 film (Ferrania 200) in Adox APH 09 (Rodinal). This one took a lot of work in PS removing a water streak.. I'm going to try re-washing some of these, actually, as there's a nasty streak running across several of the negatives in this batch, some of them look like good pictures. The first batch of my Xpan pics, scanned on a Nikon 9000 (not my scanner, I haven't gone quite that mad... yet..!) These are 50% reduced each way from the original scan, just to get them down to a reasonable size for Flickr! The originals are amazing - 10000 pixels along the top edge and pin sharp. I'm not sure about the colours yet - my monitor isn't very well calibrated and also I think the film itself has a somewhat blue tinge. Yes, that would be film, real film, not digital :) Yes, I bought an Xpan.

Maybe I prefer the monochrome version.. although the highlights are a bit blown out - almost impossible not to do that here. Colour version is here .

One of my more popular pictures on flickr.. also has done well in photo club competitions.

Really annoyed about this one - couldn't quite get the angle to separate the bird's head from the far land line.. oh well. You get the idea, anyway. That's the Isle of Wight in the background and the water is the Solent.

Very nice to see the sun again - it's been a while...
