Such a tiny moth..........with a wingspan of only around 20mm. I only had my 12-100mm lens with me, so not really equipped for macro. This is a pretty large crop but not too bad all things considered.

Last week, I went to visit my friend Ajophotog (on IP) who had kindly set out his moth trap the night before. We spend quite a while photographing, identifying and then releasing them. Great fun! The highlight for me was this magnificent Privet Hawk Moth.......I hope you like it as much as I do. The adjacent photo shows it resting on my hand (for scale). It's big!

Taken on Skokholm Island. A first for me, so I was dead chuffed to get a few decent shots - not easily though as it flies very fast..!!

I think these are the caterpillars of the Brown Tailed Moth.
