This obelisk stands in private property at the edge of the grounds of Bicton Park Gardens Devon. It was built in 1747 by Henry Rolle, 1st Baron Rolle (1708–1750) as a visual attraction for the gardens. I was only able to get this shot from a nearby road by scrambling up an embankment and shooting over the fence. It provided a point of interest in the field of oilseed rape. I could have done with some clouds too, but you can't have everything :-) I hope to have caught up with everyone by this evening...........but I have family coming to stay with us on Wednesday for a few days, so I'll probably end up even further behind by the end of the weekend!
