Memorial Stone

I probably walk past the War Memorial in my home town 4 or 5 times a week. Last Saturday I noticed that someone had painted a stone and left in on the steps of the memorial. It looks like it's been there some time so I thought it deserved to have it's photo taken :-)

Remembrance

This beautifully embroidered poem is part of the Remembrance Day display at a church on Hayling Island, Hampshire. Unfortunately, I have no idea who embroidered it, but I think whoever it was wouldn't mind me posting it here! The fourth verse is particularly poignant and is used in most UK Remembrance Day services.

This installation is really beautiful, but it's very difficult to get shots with no people in. Well worth a visit. A link here: www.1418now.org.uk/commissions/poppies for more information.
