Euphorbia is a very large and diverse genus of flowering plants, commonly called spurge. They produce a milky sap which can cause inflammation, especially if it comes into contact with the mucous membranes of the eye, nose or mouth. Therefore, spurges should be handled with caution and kept away from children and pets.
