I last visited Alice Holt Arboretum at the end of September and the autumn colours had not yet emerged. I went back today only to find I'd missed the best bits! Sometimes you just can't win, but I got several images I was happy with, so can't complain. Please view large, on black. Thank you.

Some nice golden brown colours emerging. Taken at Alice Holt Arboretum about 3 weeks ago.

A visit to Alice Holt Arboretum (near Farnham in Surrey) to see if there was any Autumn colour about........there wasn't..!! Nevertheless, we had a pleasant walk until the rain arrived with a vengeance, so we retreated to a local garden centre café for a bit of lunch and then called it a day and went home. It's not often you see my wife and I in the same photo, but I had my tripod with me today and used the self-timer for this shot.

The bracken is dying off and turning golden brown, but in this part of the forest the trees are mainly evergreen, so there won't be much change. Best viewed large, on black. Thank you.

Frensham Great Pond, between Farnham and Hindhead, Surrey.

The bridge is intact, but the fence has seen better days! Have a great weekend folks :-)

Waggoners Wells is a series of three large ponds connected by streams and small waterfalls. It was acquired by the National Trust in 1919. It really needs to be re-visited later in the year, when the leaves start changing colour. We had a nice wander round though and then visited the nearby town of Grayshott for a cuppa and slice of apple pie..!!

Taken on a walk round Frensham Little Pond, Surrey. I decided to try a mono conversion and thought it looked a bit post-apocalypse!!

On a walk around Frensham Little Pond in Surrey, a couple of wooden benches caught my eye. This is one of them. I thought I'd share :)
