Keith Burton's photos with the keyword: Pier

Taken during a day trip early last month. Sorry for the large number of PiPs, but I thought these would work better as a series. Please feel free to ignore them if you wish (not that I'd know anyway)! The PiPs include a couple of views taken from the pier looking back towards the beach. The pier is a Grade 2 listed building and was built in 1862. More history here for anyone who is interested: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worthing_Pier

The pier is currently being renovated and a great deal of it is covered in scaffolding. It's good to see it's not being left to fall into disrepair! Better on black............

..............on a warm, but grey day! Hence the mono conversion. I used an old lens I bought secondhand a couple of years ago, but have hardly used: a Nikkor 28-105mm, f3.5-4.5 D. A capable lens with a useful macro facility. Sits well on the D300 for a light (ish) daily carry.

...........complete with ghostly fishermen. Experimenting with long exposures on the Fuji X100. This was a 20 sec exposure at ISO 100 f16. To prevent over-exposure, I had to use the built in ND2 filter and add a polarising filter as well. Taken this evening during a walkabout with Alby, so that he could play with his new Fuji X100. Got a few more to sort through yet.......but not tonight! View large on black.......

Currently fenced off and derelict. Such a shame
