Lone Tree

01 Dec 2022 20 28 144
We were driving up Portsdown Hill, Hampshire on a busy dual carriageway yesterday afternoon and spotted this tree through a gap in the hedge. I quickly found a safe place to stop, and managed to walk back down the hill without getting myself run over, to take this photo. Luckily, my wife is used to me doing this sort of thing.........and carries a book to give her something to read until I get back to the car! Please view large, if you want. Have a splendid Thursday :-)

Not really a lone tree, but cropped to make it seem so.

I last took a photo of this tree exactly one year ago today. It stands on top of the Downs above Hambledon braving the wind and amazingly, has hardly changed at all..!! Last years image: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/36959936/in/album/396611

Hope you all have a good weekend while I'm at work :( I tried all angles to photograph this tree without the fence but I would have needed a fisheye lens! I then decided to get the fence in shot and save it for today!!

Storm damaged!

I think this view has real potential and I intend to revisit it in better weather - especially with some decent cloud formations.

Thought this scene suited the black and white treatment.
