Not the best of days for visiting the beach. It was difficult to stand up against the wind. These four images are of the waves hitting the outside deck of the Inn on the Beach, Hayling Island and the ajoining groynes. Bear in mind that the pebbles I was standing on are about 15 feet or so above sea level. If you look closely you can see some of the the pebbles from the beach being tossed up in the waves.

Hayling Island this morning.............beautifully sunny, but with an icy wind and heavy waves.

Somewhere inside that wave is a windsurfer. Luckily he got himself to the surface and his mate helped him drag the board and sail out of the surf. Please view large, on black.

Strong winds and stormy seas at Hayling Island yesterday.........for some brave surfers though it was ideal, but challenging! For me it was enough of a challenge to stand upright on the beach and keep the salt water spray off the front of my lens!

It can get very windy on the Isle of Skye and therefore the fences have to be pretty robust! Should have tied the caravan to the fence!!
