This seed head was sticking up out of the top of a hedge..........and I couldn't resist a bit of minimalism. My foot is a little better. Thanks to all those who wished me well. It's going to take 3 or 4 weeks to heal properly and so I'll be "excused boots" and unable to walk much for a while. Luckily I can still drive as I have an automatic car (and so don't need to use my left foot), so I need to find some places I can get too by car and not have to walk much :-)

When I first spotted this, on the lid of our wheelie bin, I was convinced it was some sort of insect. It is pretty small - around 4 or 5mm long. Once I got it in focus I could see it was a seed case carrying a single red seed.

Testing my new macro ring flash. (Viltrox JY670). It's manual only, so a bit of a learning curve, but so far so good.

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend - despite the erratic weather. Three to post today..........I haven't been out with the camera for a while, so I'm still posting photos I've taken over the last month or so.

Actually there are 3 Alberts who live in a dray in my garden and I can't tell them apart. They spend ages sorting out the sunflower seeds from amongst the mixed seed we put out for the birds.
