I spotted these beautiful Heather flowers growing in someones front garden in Emsworth, Hampshire. I believe they are a domestic heather (rather than the wild one) known as Erica Carnea. There is a shot of the white variety from the same garden in the PiP. If anyone knows different, feel free to let me know :-) Quite nice viewed large I think!

These were starting to look a little worse for wear when I captured this shot back at the end of February.

Lovely pink and white flowers. Spring is definitely upon us!

I found this lying on the top of a compost heap in a churchyard. I gave it a bit of a shake to remove some soil and then wedged it on top of a post to take this shot! I suspect it's the same plant as this: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/48193344 Edit..........Thanks to Gudrun for her ID of both plants (below). I've updated the title and notes.

Also known by lots of other names, including cow-rattle, cockle, cuckoo flower,white batchelors button and white robin.
