Taken in my garden between heavy rain showers last Saturday. Not much flowering yet , just one tulip (yesterdays shot) and quite a few Grape Hyacinth. My garden gets very boggy when it rains and there will be lots of work to do when it dries out, but past experience tells me that it will take a couple weeks without rain before that happens! A cut flower from a bouquet given to my wife. Photographed on our table with the wall as a background (although I changed the colour of the wall).

I positioned the camera over the flower, using a tripod, getting the lens almost inside the ring of petals and I then used a torch from underneath to give me enough light for the photo. This was a cut flower from a bouquet, so I was able to shoot indoors avoiding the wind.

Unfortunately the emerging tulip I took a photo of the other day didn't survive. Luckily there was another to hand. Taken in my garden. Best viewed large. Thanks for looking. There is another image of a tulip in the PiP. That one was taken in a neighbours garden.

I noticed this tulip in my neighbours garden................it's stem was broken and with her permission I decided to give it a new lease of (virtual) life. Photographed on my tabletop. Black card as a background and natural light through the window. Go large for best effect.........thank you.

Spotted in a window box whilst out for a walk yesterday. A bonus flower from my neighbour's garden in the PiP.

When I was in the garden a week or so ago I managed to stand on and destroy a fledgling tulip plant. However I managed to save the internal bits for a photograph.

From a street display in Chichester., West Sussex. This will be my last posting for a week or so. We're off to visit family in the West Country tomorrow. I may get a chance to do some commenting later, if I've finished packing etc. Have a good weekend everyone :-)

I'm pretty sure this is some sort of tulip variety, but not sure which. Spotted it in our local cemetery.
