I half expected this starling to speak to us this afternoon. There we were, on the deck, minding our own business, with cool drinks in hand, and this one arrives, hopping around the deck, back and forth to the spot where peanuts usually sit for him. He/she was obviously demanding service. (Uhh, service which was given.) He/she came back a little later with a fledging starling, presumably this year's offspring. The introduction wasn't made properly though because the young one disappeared up into a tree.
