I should be more careful calling mushrooms like these "shrooms." After all, that word, shrooms, is most often used for the psychedelic kinds, of which I don't think these are one. I *think* they are Armillaria, the so-called honey mushrooms. But I don't know for sure. I've never eaten Armillaria mushrooms, and I read somewhere that they are among the mushrooms that interact with any alcohol you might consume around the same time. "Interact" is a nice word for "make you sick." I do enjoy a beer as I cook supper, so I ain't trying my luck with these shrooms. But they are pretty sitting there next to the driveway.
