Like my father, I enjoy digging a hole in the ground to plant something. He kept doing it nearly until he died about five years after this picture was taken. I had stopped by at his garden and found him, despite the lateness of the season -- it was August -- pulling rocks from where he was planting some potatoes, or perhaps flowers -- I don't remember what. This was Kodak VPS 160 film shot in my short-lived Great Wall camera. When it was still new, a small part broke off inside and I could never get the Chinese manufacturer to send me a part. Sigh. I had liked the camera when it worked.
