I've had this pine tree in a pot for 35 years. For years, friends called it my "pet pine tree." In recent years, some have called it my imprisoned pine, saying i should put it in the ground. But I don't want to. I have always thought of it as my faux-bonzai, though I've never trimmed it for effect. About four years ago I put it in a much bigger pot than it had been in and it had a sudden growth spurt. It is well over three feet (one metre) tall now and I do think about trimming it. Maybe this year. This is some of its new growth for this year. It is very healthy.
