This afternoon I noticed the birds outside my window had all gone quiet. This bluejay tucked himself into the tree for ten minutes and juncos stood stock still underneath it. I figured there was a hawk nearby, but I never saw it. Eventually the bluejay crept out a little and I took this picture. Soon they all resumed normal programming.
