Bird's eye view of Cromer

The Church of St Peter and St Paul in Cromer, Norfolk. Since the 14th century the parish church has been in the centre of the town. However, after falling into disrepair it was rebuilt in the late 19th century by architect, Arthur Blomfield. At 160 ft 4 in (48.87 m) the church tower is the highest in the county. Also, of note are the vast stained glass windows which commemorate various members of the lifeboat crew and other features of the resort.

Where is the brass band?

♥ ♥ ♥This is dedicated to the very brave crew of the Cromer Lifeboat who risk their lives to save others in the most horrendous weather. To all Lifeboat men and women around the world.. Thank you.♥ ♥ ♥ Texture courtesy of JoeSistah www.flickr.com/photos/27805557@N08 Lost At Sea.....Poem by Kenneth James Hill As my eyes gaze across upon the shallows, Into deeper darker waters i see, Where many a man, lady, child and baby Have been lost to the mysterious sea. Never reaching the place they were going to, Never returning to the place from where they have come, They're gone forever but always remembered In the hearts of their dear loved ones. f ******************There has been a lifeboat service operated from Cromer for two centuries - predating the establishent of the RNLI. The volunteer crews at Cromer have gained a record of gallantry stretching back to the beginnings of the RNLI. Some of the most notable rescues and service have been carried out by famous coxswains such as Henry Blogg and Henry "Shrimp" Davies and their crews. To date there have been awards of 45 Bronze medals, 8 Silver medals and 3 Gold medals.***********************
