This is a puddle in the woods, just beside the path. Frogspawn appears in ponds from January onwards, depending a lot on the weather and the region (the south-west usually has the first sightings). By March, frogspawn should be present in well-vegetated, shaded, shallow ponds across the country. Around three weeks after spawning the tadpoles hatch out from their eggs.
