The Clftonville Hotel sits on the right hand corner of Albert Rd. It started as a small boarding house in 1894. Designed by architect Augustus Scott. On the opposite side of the road there were originally 7 houses in the Queen Anne revival style. (designed by George Skipper) 4 of them were demolished by bombing in WW2, and you can see modern flats now occupy that plot.
