Crab are a large part of the income of the town of Cromer. Historically the crab were only caught in the summer months, in autumn the fishermen brought Herring to the town, and winter cod was the main catch. This has now changed to solely bringing crab and lobster to the town.
The Cromer Crab in particular are known for their tender flesh, and high proportion of white meat to dark. The fleet has reduced to about a dozen boats, looking after about 200 crab pots, meaning that it is even more of a specialty!

youtu.be/KVYVt95seCk ( youtu.be/KVYVt95seCk ) God is watching over you by Phil Joel.
First verse......
He sees you down by the water line
knows what you thinking all the time
he sees the rising of the waves
when the tide starts rolling in
He let's you know it's gonna be O.K.
Thank you for your visits and comments.

The Beach Huts, a poem by Mike Bliss
The weathered wood and peeling paint
Hints of days of glory past
When I skipped along the promenade
Past postcards beyond my ken.
But that was then, and now is now
They've had a lick of paint, but
Beach huts hark back to a quieter time
Of quiet children, well-mannered gentlemen.
We await the melted ice-cream cones
Leering from the sky
And corporate-suited gentlemen
Watching traditions die.
But it doesn't have to be this way
We can keep this place alive
With silly hats and fish and chips
Seagulls, and you and I.
The sands of time.
A cool autumn day...

East Runton, Norfolk
As I Walked On The Beach, a poem by Francis Duggan
The surf waves did roll foaming up a white spray
As I walked on the beach on a cool Autumn day
The terns in the shallows for their small prey did dive
Most creatures in Nature must hunt to survive
The silver gulls as usual in numbers to be seen
And a pair of pacific black backed gulls their feathers did preen
And a pied shag on a rock held her wings out to dry
After fishing when wet she finds it hard to fly
Every day in Nature something new to be seen
An artist on canvas could paint such a scene
So much in the Earthly Goddess to love and admire
Of singing her praises could one ever tire
The day is not sunny a cool fifteen degrees
Yet there is a freshness in the ocean breeze.
