Resources and textures from Pixabay, and Picmonkey The Angel of the North is a contemporary sculpture, designed by Antony Gormley, located in Gateshead in Tyne and Wear, England. Completed in 1998, it is a steel sculpture of an angel, 20 metres (66 ft) tall, with wings measuring 54 metres (177 ft) across. The wings do not stand straight sideways, but are angled 3.5 degrees forward; Gormley did this to create "a sense of embrace".

Chris Moore’s sculpture Bird Songs is an oversized gramophone, a symbol of a forgotten era, slowly sinking into the earth and taking with it the song of birds that are lost to New Zealand’s forests forever. Chris specialises in metalwork, blacksmithing and bronze casting. His forged steel and bronze work appears throughout New Zealand and overseas in NZ Sculpture OnShore, Sculpture on the Peninsula, Shapeshifter and Sculpture in the Gardens 2011/12.
