I tried to pin the sleeve correctly prior to beading it. The pinning just didn't work out because the pins kept slipping. However, I think you can get a good idea of how it should look.

I pulled the skirt out to show it does have some volume. It looked pencil straight on the dress dummy.

This is the side of the skirt opening. I added bias tape to the sides of the opening because that's how it is in the burial gown and it makes a lot more sense than what I had been doing.
