Pitcher Zach Piccola of the West Michigan Whitecaps. Zach was signing autographs, bantering with the crowd, and watching Duane Below, the starting pitcher, warm up pretty much simultaneously. 2006 Midwest League Most Valuable Player Jeff Baisley swings and misses at a Sendy Vasquez offering in the fifth inning of Game 3 of the Midwest League Championship Series. The series pits the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit farm) against Baisley's Kane County Cougars (Oakland). The Whitecaps won this game to take a 2-1 lead in the best of five series; they will play again tomorrow at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park. Dusty Ryan's the WM catcher; John Byrne is the ump.
