Although this is an older picture, it shows pretty much what our deck's looked like every morning lately. (Well, the junk's changed, but that's a relatively minor issue.)

Joan wanted a trellis, so we built one. In a couple days we'll plant some climbing roses.... This photo shows our wind tunnel (the trellis won't help, since west is behind the photographer), and the weather station's still-temporary (and ugly) wiring. The picnic table's usually on the porch. The Spirea in the foreground is a happy accident.

Best viewed large! We've been working in the yard all week. While we've already planted some stuff, most of the effort's been prep work. Here's what still needs planting.
