That's a golf course (Sunfield's Centennial Acres) on the left. Somehow I lived a couple miles from this road for about 20 years without noticing it. Well, I know it's there now.

Still some color around, though. Boyer Road, south of Mulliken, Michigan.

My photographic mission for the day, a year ago, was to find a combine harvester out tearing up a wheat field. I didn't exactly succeed, but found a fully satisfactory photo of a combine surrounded by large trucks at the edge of a partially-digested field (see below). The farm's on Needmore Highway, and I parked at the corner of Loucks School Road to take the picture. Since I was already on Loucks, I headed up toward the old school. This photo's through my windshield, just a few hundred feet up from the other but looking north instead of west.... ========== I also posted the wheat field photo on Facebook, where it generated some perhaps-entertaining interplay. * High school friend, longtime Florida resident: "Where is this? Surely looks like home." * Me: "Eaton County, at Needmore and Loucks--a place only [former coworker] would recognize. Pretty much nowhere" * Former Coworker: "Yep, pretty much nowhere.
