Last February 19: Joan's mom called, reported she was ill, and asked for a ride to the local medical clinic. The clinic staff talked with her for a few minutes, then called an ambulance. Thelma spent 32 hours in the emergency room, under observation. A long day. The ER's not designed for overnight stays, but the hospital was full.
