The Little Thornapple , as it happens. Chester Township, Eaton County, Michigan.

Been sorting through some old photographs this morning.... Our back yard, on Palmer Avenue in Kalamazoo, in January of 1972. I was back from Vietnam, but not yet out of the Army when I took this photo. We played whiffle baseball in this yard and used that high wall to define homers (and doubles, I think). Our neighbor built the fence to keep us kids out of her yard, which didn't work as well as she'd likely hoped.

Wednesday's heavy snowfall stuck nicely to the trees.

Along the trail, Michigan Audubon's Baker Sanctuary, south of Bellevue, Michigan.

My back yard, and the neighbors' yards. But mostly the sky.

I much preferred yesterday's bright sunlight. Not to be, I guess.

It snowed a year ago, which pretty much dictated that I'd photograph the weather for 366 Snaps . Most of the day's pix were shot from our deck or the garage.
