Muskegon State Park

18 Jul 2007 149
Shot from the breakwater at the end of the channel at Muskegon, looking at the small beach within the larger breakwater which protects the harbor. I particularly like the peculiar clouds, which are probably more visible in the larger sizes. It was a glorious day at the beach.

Across the Grand

Opinion: This photo looks pretty good at every resolution; I'm rather pleased with it. We walked the Ledges Trail in Grand Ledge this afternoon. The light was excellent, the other walkers we encountered were interesting, and the hike was delightful. ============== I've photographed this dock before; for instance, here's the same place . There's something about this platform--it's directly across from the stairway at Fitzgerald Park--that always gets my attention.

M/V Woody

04 Sep 2007 116
We got to Port Huron this afternoon just about the same time this ship--Woody--arrived, so I snapped a few photos whilst Joan parked the car. (Blue Water Bridge in the background, for those who don't know.) Didn't see any more ships in motion all afternoon. Finally gave up and went to supper at the Quay Street Brewery, only to have Ypermachos wander by about the time our food arrived. So it goes.... Woody ??? Just doesn't seem like the right name for that boat.

Leaving Town

Explored (111 on Wednesday, September 19, 2007). Thanks! (No longer in the top 500. So goes Explore.) Wilfred Sykes ( again ) and an array of pleasure craft about to clear the Muskegon breakwater. Sykes will shortly be turning south, likely for one of the steel mills in northern Indiana. This photo works quite well in the larger sizes ....
