Boley Lake, Babcock State Park, atop the New River Gorge in West Virginia. Another photo I really like, but the scan leaves a lot to be desired. I'll fix, someday. All in good time.

Empire Bluff, above Empire, Michigan, looking toward Empire, the Sleeping Bear Dune, and Pyramid Point. Taken, I think, in 1998. A few months ago, Brian H speculated that he wasn't likely the only person who'd photographed this tree . I assured him he wasn't. Reasonably sure I shot this with the Nikon N90s. Posting this old and rather poor scan because of the next photo I'm posting . Someday I'll locate the original, and post a decent scan....

Thirteen years ago today....

Great Lakes freighter Oglebay Norton exits Poe Lock at Sault Ste Marie in 1997. I'm quite pleased with the photo; can't say much for the scan, though. Someday I'll rescan, and repost....

In the St. Clair River at Port Huron, Michigan, in 1991 (Sarnia, Ontario, in the background). The Blue Waters at their best.

At Sault Ste. Marie in 1998. We didn't realize it yet, but the Clipper --a passenger ship cruising on the Great Lakes--was just ending a cruise. She parked here long enough for the passengers to finish their dinner, then moved a bit down the river and let everyone off. She's now mostly cruising elsewhere , but there are other cruises available. Certainly looked like a fun vacation....

A flower a day for January .... We pulled these up nearly a decade ago, to expand Joan's veggie garden. A couple bulbs live on in other locations. An old scan of an old photograph; someday I'll re-scan it.
