This farm--it's near where I used to work--was a dairy operation until about a decade ago. It featured these long, delicious windbreaks.
Now a farm growing the usual local crops. It's less interesting but the windbreaks remain.
The Other Missing Barn

This barn wasn't one of my regular photo subjects, but we passed it on our way to work every day and it slipped into an occasional photograph. This one, for instance .
Unlike the McCargar barn, which appears to have been deliberately removed, this one has obviously just collapsed. Must have been quite something to see.
The pole barn was built perhaps a decade ago. It's long because its main use is parking long trucks.

...but it's spotty.
This photo is sort of the opposite view of a picture I took for 366 Snaps , which I'll put in the first comment. That photo was taken near the high point in this pic--the silo in that pic was about a half-mile to my right when I shot this one.
Benton Township, Michigan.

Pretty sure I took this on Canal Road, north of Eaton Rapids (and/or east of Potterville).
But don't hold me to that. Thanks.

I've been passing this farm forever. Don't think I ever took their pic before.
St Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Dimondale

Former church building, near Dimondale, Michigan. The parish has since moved to Lansing. I have no relation to the congregation; I took these photographs because the building is attractive, and because I had a brand-new camera I wanted to try out.
This sign would lead you to think the parish is named St Joseph Melkite, but in truth "Melkite" is the denomination .

Near Potterville, Michigan. This is outside Roxand Township, but not far outside so I'm including it in my Mulliken group.
I know. You really don't care....
St Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Dimondale

Seventeen Three views of St Joseph's. These photos were taken because I had a new camera and thought (& still think) the building was attractive. I have no connection with this congregation.
The church was located near Dimondale, Michigan, when I shot these photos in (I think) late 1988. The parish has moved to Lansing.
This was originally a schoolhouse. When I posted this it housed an antique shop. Now (5/1/13) it's a house.
This set was shot with a point-n-shoot 110 camera. Some of the photos are quite sharp, but most have the characteristic graininess of 110 film. All were scanned from prints, as my scanner cannot handle small negatives.

The Hartel Farm

Last December 28 I went looking for a photo in one last small town--Potterville, as it happens. I'd tried this before, on July 10 , but that hadn't worked out. This time worked better, and the 366 Snaps shot shows what "downtown" Potterville looks like.
Around the time I moved to the area someone sponsored a study to determine whether Potterville should reorient itself to acknowledge that most of the town's businesses were actually along Lansing Road. As far as I know, nothing ever came of the study. The businesses remain where they were, and the central business district mostly consists of Gizzard City .
And the grain elevator.
==========
The Hartels were early settlers in the Potterville area--in fact, one of the main county roads is named for the family. Here's their barn, and part of their road.

This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps .
