A flower a day for February.

Spring is so much fun!

Every spring, Joan brings home a potted hyacinth. That gets the cats all excited, so she puts it out of their reach. The house smells sweet. The plant typically blooms for a couple weeks, then she transplants it to the garden. This was one of those transplants. Sadly, it's nearly forgotten how to blossom. But the few flowers it offers each spring are quite lovely, and surprisingly delicate.

Really. We've little colonies here and there around the yard ; most of 'em are quite fine this spring.

They've finally opened. Most springs Joan picks up a Hyacinth at the grocery store and sits it prominently in our living room. After it fades she plants it in the garden. These, and all the hyacinths in our yard, began that way.

These guys have been trying to work up the nerve to actually open for several days, now.
