I've been passing this farm forever. Don't think I ever took their pic before.

Guardians

Every herd has one or two members tasked to watch the passing bicycles, just in case we do something threatening....

Cattle, Anyone?

03 Dec 2010 95
Taken on a day rather like today, early in 2006, with my Minolta SRT-101. Rural Eaton County.... Same location, different angle .

Barn, with Hay & Cattle

10 Sep 2005 183
I've shown you this barn before , but there it was being its usual photogenic self this morning when I rode by. So you're getting another picture or two. Besides, the way the cows watch the passing parade through those doors is just impossible to resist. So I grabbed the camera and shot a few--literally from the bike's saddle. Wonder if I've got any pictures stashed away from before the buttresses were added. I'll have to look....

Outbuilding with Cows

Same location as the previous photo; this building also survives, even though the house which overlooked the pasture's been demolished. This is really just a cinder-block shed, but someone made an effort to make it look good.

Cattle in the Depression

I've shown you this farm before , although that was from another direction. This time I stopped the car, got out, and took proper photographs. Don't see any need to repeat the story I told with the other pic. ========== I wandered around the township a year ago, shooting pix pretty much at random. The sunrise shot I posted to 366 Snaps was taken south of town, from Mulliken Road, at perhaps my favorite local photo location. ========== This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps . A Small Pasture

18 Apr 2013 2 80
Our route to and from work takes (well, took) us past this farm twice daily; we'd usually turn at this corner. It's a nice, compact farm operation, and well set up for a photograph. But I've generally taken those pix from a moving car, and usually been dissatisfied. This shot, despite the motion, captures what I see in the place. When I first moved to Mulliken, this farmer kept his cattle in a field across the road from his house. We'd sometimes find him driving them back to the barn as we passed. These days he mostly just feeds 'em hay.... ========== This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps . 366 Snaps project discussion for April 18 .

Had a plan for today's snap. Didn't work out.
