Azalea blossoms floating on a mirror

Boley Lake, Babcock State Park, atop the New River Gorge in West Virginia. Another photo I really like, but the scan leaves a lot to be desired. I'll fix, someday. All in good time.

Down by the River Side

Oak Park, Grand Ledge, Michigan, from the Ledges Trail across the river. Another summer photo of a place I've photographed before , again looking quite different (and far greener) with the trees all leafed out. Better LARGE , methinks. Whatever the season, that rock wall attracts climbers. Note the guy in red, off to the right....

Across the Grand

Opinion: This photo looks pretty good at every resolution; I'm rather pleased with it. We walked the Ledges Trail in Grand Ledge this afternoon. The light was excellent, the other walkers we encountered were interesting, and the hike was delightful. ============== I've photographed this dock before; for instance, here's the same place . There's something about this platform--it's directly across from the stairway at Fitzgerald Park--that always gets my attention.

Nana G2006 says it's a Bunchberry , which looks right. Thanks! Shot along the Sand Dunes Trail (actually an XC ski area, with a half-dozen or so overlapping trails), near Brevort, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We walk these delightful trails every couple years, usually in mid-June. This time, though, we took out several ticks, which was perhaps not what we bargained for. No harm done, but seriously annoying.
